Cooling system problem

ok, so my grand cherokee decided to start hemorrhaging antifreeze. it appears to be coming from where the bottom hose and the water pump meet. because the space is awkward when i look from underneath the vehicle i really can't tell if it's a bad pump or a bad hose. i am trying to avoid a $300 car repair bill for the water pump. a bad hose i can change. water pump i can't on my own. any ideas?

Go to the cheap fix first. Change the hose and if that doesn't do it pick up a haynes manual.
