Code 21, then stall?

So I know code 21 is for oxygen sensors. But twice (not consecutively) my 95 zj has thrown this code, then about 7-8 mins later tries to stall. Never completely does and comes back within 2-3 seconds, then does it intermittently till I get to my house. Both times I've been within 5 mins of home so I can't say if it keeps on and keeps on. Both times were cruising down the highway about 55.

Throttle body is clean,

Ideas?

given that it's coding, my first step (not knowing the history of vehicle) would be to replace 02 sensor with NTK brand. the o2 sensor should replaced at 100k.

I just don't see how an o2 sensor can be related to it stalling, but if there's one thing I've learned from this forum it's not to overlook or ignore ANYTHING. It's gonna be replaced soon. I'd rather not be stranded and be proactive on maintenance, but this is only the second time in roughly 3000 miles its done it.

History of everything I've had with it:
Alternator went out, replaced.
Steering gear is bad
Transmission line busted.
207xxx miles, speedo/odo only recently fixed (bought with 194k )
Throttle body, intake, and manifold cleaned on 3rd oil change.
3k mile oil change interval, Castrol gtx for first 3 changes, rotella t5 in last 4. Napa gold oil filter each time.

take this as a mental note... imbed it in your brain; when your ZJ gives you an overt indication that there is a problem, run it to ground until you figure out if it's telling you the truth, a half truth, or a complete fib. they aren't very good at disclosure.

the 02 is part of the PCMs method of figuring the fuel strategy and is commonly the cause of all sorts of maladies including the symptoms you describe.

Oh the joys of a zj. Replacing o2s and probably going to do a full tune up shortly after. I forgot last one I did money was tight and I only cleaned and reused the cap rotor and wires.

If it helps to convince you, I recently replaced my upstream o2 sensor on mine and it cleared up 90% of my issues.

I'm convinced. Lol. I've got a plug wire frayed so that may be contributing but ill get right on clearing up that code before it gets worse.
