check ball joints by jacking up the rear tires and if u can push in on the top of the tire and it rocks back and forth more than likely u have a bad ball joint, either that your lug nuts are loose lol

My best guess would be ball joints also. Have you greased them lately?

Stop the insanity!!!!

There are no ball joints in the rear.

If you have play in the tires when it's on jacks, you need new bearings and probably other items.

It's one of three things. Control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, or track bar.

Check all those and see where you are at.

Raise the rear of the Jeep on jackstands. Pull on the control arms and track bar and look for any movement.

For the sway bar, look at it and verify everything looks normal and then attempt to move it by hand. I think some WJ's don't have a rear sway bar, so if you don't have one, no big deal.

Some folks drive 240K on theirs with no problems. Others drive 10K and have issues.

Quality control at Chrysler is still a problem. I know several folks who've had to get Hemi engines replaced as well as their trannys.

It doesn't help that they switch parts manufacturer's so often that it seems like nothing ever stays the same for more than a year or so. Causes lots of parts problems.
