Clock keeps reseting

ON random occassions, my clock will reset and blink until I set the time/date. It's very annoying since I've left it blinking for as much as 10 days and on "january 10th" I set it for the correct date, only to leave in the morning to find it's January 1.
Always happens on startup, and I can't seem to determine what cmobination of events causes it to reset. Is there a seperate battery that I'm missing?
Funny that the service miles always remember, but the date/time resets.

I'd suspect dirty battery terminals.

Does she ever crank and start slowly in the morning? It's happened to me until I got the connections cleaned.

Nope. Spins right over. Has almost new battery, and nice clean and coated terminals and connections.

You could always rip out the VIC and throw it in the trash.

But I agree with the bad connection theory. If not the battery then perhaps ground, starter, etc.

Mine does the same thing. I think it's the wiring to the VIC or there's a possibility it could be those bad solder joints that haunt these VIC's. If I fix mine, I'll post my findings here.
