You should leave the ridge alone unless the piston is coming out.

It's partially carbon and the rest is a step between the original bore diameter and what it's now worn to. You'll never remove the whole ridge with cleaning.

The ridge also forms i heard because the engine hasnt been run WOT a lot.. I heard running an engine really hard that has these ridges is bad thing to do.. I could be wrong but its what i read
