changin the diff fluid in the 44a....and SNAP...SNAP

i just broke two more bolts. The top two.:brick wall

now what

Easy Rocky, you need to step away from the torque wrench...

You're lucky it's the top two. There's a good chance you can get by without it leaking.

i wasnt even turning that hard. all the other ones came out fine. im thinking im going to put it all back together without the top two and see if it leaks. if it doesnt, then great. if it does then it would be a good reason for an 8.8 swap . or ill just drill and retap em

use a left handed bit, chances are it will back out as you drill

WJ's have really low gas tanks, I don't think you could access the top bolts with a regular drill. You may be able to jack the back end up and use an angle drill however...

because they are the very top two and there is almost no room to work. dropping the tank isnt that big of a deal. ive been meaning to cutout the spare wheel well anyway. just havent gotten around to it.

Just in case are overlooking this thought. cant you Put a jack under the hitch to lift the body while the axles/tires(diff) stays on the ground. that will open up a clear shot at that diff. tank will raise with the Unibody.
