Hi All
Have finally got a CD changer for the car and it all works first time
Two questions though, where is it best to place the CD unit and what is the easy way of getting the cable under the carpet without pulling it all up and taking the seats out
Have a nice Easter Holiday
Richard

hey I have experience at this, depending on where you want it installed, i have mine in the back next to my sub box, as for the control unit it is under the back seat and the actual wired remote is coming out of my center console, all i did was take the bottom of the back seats out and also the lil black inside box of the console and, now this may sound a lil "redneck", used a metal coat hanger and ran up under the carpet from in the console to the back, then looped the cord on the hanger and pulled (gently) through and VIOLA, hidden wires

that works fine^^^
The way i usually run wires in cars where its to much work to lift the seats and carpet is to lift off the pastic by the Doors and then you can lift the edge of the carpet and run all the wires up there.

in some cases the wire for the actual remote may be too short for that option, that is the way I normally run it as well, and as for the excess cord from the changer the control unit, i lifted the edge of the interior cladding and used a putty knife and pushed it up underneat there hiding all that mess....

the way we usually install any audio wiring running to the back of the car is behind the interior panels. not sure about the ZJ but there are interior panel that run along side the doors that should either pop off or screw off, many cases a little of both. take care in removing these panels as they have to go back on the same way. dont be surprised if you see other wires run through there as factory wiring runs the same route. you can use cable ties to run it along this same route.

mine was factory infinity gold but I personally dont like the gold series so I upgraded to Boston Coustic, and love it, but the Infinity sounds great for mids and highs.... If yours did not come with the Infinity I would strongly suggest upgrading as even a lower end aftermarket would be a huge gain over the originals. I am actually in the process of trying to figure out how to remove the Infinity amp and wire in my rockford for my hides and mids....
