cant get my front driveshaft out

how do i get the front driveshaft out? i unbolted all the bolts i could see on the transfer case and on the front differential. i was able to get the shaft off of the front diff, but it wont budge from the transfer case.... am i missing something is there some special trick?

Make sure that you have all 4 bolts off on the back of the diff flange on the t case side and either use the drive shaft (given that its unbolted from the front axle) like a bar and just give it a yank, or put a large screwdriver or a pry bar in the cv part of the shaft to give it some love, shel pop off so long as you have it all unbolted.

all 4 bolts?

from what i can see, there are 6 bolts holding it on each side (differential side, and t-case side)

on the wj there are 6 bolts on each side. i had the same problem. remove the 12 bolts and with all 4 wheels on the ground twist the ds with ue hand untill it breaks loose, then it will compress and slide right out.

i just crawled under and gave it a big kick and it came loose

I used a 6" extension to pry it off the yoke and it came right off.

1993 Grand Cherokee Limited, 5.2L

there arent necessarily 6 bolts per side on all WJs. Mine had 4 per side.

to be honist i didnt even notice it was a wj, I was thinkin standard yj-tj-xj stuff, but eather way, make sure its all unbolted and use a bar, shel come off

a couple soft taps with a hammer did the trick for me... course I have ZJ and the DC joint, so maybe somethings a little different here...
