Can't quite find the info I need for mid 70s 318 and 904 swap

I already have the 318 and the 904 so I just need info on mounts for the trans and 318. Are the motor mounts the same as the 318 that comes in the zjs or do i need 70s motor mounts. Does anyone know what it will take to mount the 904 in the jeep. I am going to pull the motor and trans soon any way and see what i need to make it work. I just want to see if anyone can tell me what i need so i can prepare

yeah....not a bright swap. 70's 318's had less power and torque than your 4.0.

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.

add mpfi and you'll be good. but it's a major swap no matter how you slice it

How are you going to deal with all the electronics? You're talking about putting a carbed engine in an OBDII vehicle. The computer is gonna go crazy

Yeah, the swap isn't emissions legal no matter how you slice it. You'll also be losing overdrive and the lock up torque converter using that transmission.
All around, bad idea.

Ditching all the electronics and is exempt from passing emissions in MA, if the 904 will not be good for the swap what should I use

it's not exempt from federal law. can't swap in a motor that is older than the manufacture year of the vehicle or one that wasn't offered in that vehicles line up as an option.

say goodbye to your gauges, they are all controlled by the electronics.

seriously not worth the work, if you want a V8, go buy a stock V8 ZJ. alot less work and probably alot cheaper too. not like theres a shortage of them
