A/C warm at idle over 85 degrees F

Maybe this is just normal for a 99 WJ 4.7L.... when the WJ is idling the A/C eventually gets sorta warm and has trouble keeping up; still cooling and not hot, but not great either. A/C system is perfect; had a tested it holds its vacuum and didn't need any freon, no leaks even.

Could this be a coolant problem? Engine temp never exceeds 210 even over 90 outside.

Sounds like a potential airflow problem more than anything. Clean the condenser with a heavy duty degreaser, and clean in between the condenser and radiator, where leaves and bugs and crap build up. Make sure both fans (I believe you have two) are working properly.
2003 WJ in Jeep Green Metallic, 4.0/242/4.10's. 4" Teraflex springs w/ RE monotube shocks and IRO short arms, cheap intake w/ amsoil filter, 2.5" hi flow cat and back exhaust, lots of lights and other misc crap.

Im having the same issue with my 02 WJ. Mine has the hydralic cooling fan however. Anyone else have this problem? I am going to assume that even at idle and with the 4.7 the a/c system sound be able to run cool and continuesly?

Could also be the AC compressor clutch or a slipping belt.

how is the engine tempeture when you idle for a while?

I am thinking it is a lack of airflow to
95 ZJ, 5.2 V8,160,000 miles
