Broken spedometer

I have a 93 ZJ. I was driving the other day, going about 25. I look and see the needle on my speedometer at 80 and rising. It is now stuck all the way around, under the 0 mark. It has been sluggish to rise as I speed up in the past which makes me think its a wiring issue. Any suggestions?

First of all, the simplest thing to do, take a look at the transfer case: disconnect and reconnect the speedo cable and then check again.

Poor Italy: my Country leaks like my t-case :-(
