broken abs tone ring

took apart u joint and carelessly damaged the cast gear that is on the outer front axle . it is now missing a small chunk, will it affect the abs? havent been able to find just the tone ring, only a whole new outer axle for 100

I had an old axle laying around & was able to donate the tone ring to another member. They pop off pretty easy using a hammer & drift.
Why not go to the forum sale area, and make a plea for one? I'm sure there are a lot of axles laying around with bad cv joints & good tone rings.
BTW: CV & U-Joint rings are interchangeable.

Note To Self: When changing an axle, remember to take off the tone ring for potential future use.

Refurbished shafts with a lifetime warranty are like $50 from Napa.
