Brake pad help

I have a 2001 Grnd Cherokee Laredo. I will be replacing front rotors with Brembos. I will be changing the pads as well. I know there are two types of brake calipers used on the Cherokee. Is there any simple way of detemining what type of calipers are used, ATE or Akebono? I need to know caliper type to buy the correct pads.

Thanks

you could take the brake pads off, use another car to go to the parts store and match the pads with what they have. That should be able to determine what type of calipers you have. Unless someone has changed the calipers, I think you should have the ATE calipers though.

Thanks. I thought of that but when I change them, my wife will have my car and, well, you know the rest. But I think you're right about the ATE. I hear the Akebonos are silver grey in color.
