Brake grinding noises 1995

My 95 Grand has a grinding noise from the brakes when they are used moderately hard. May be back or front -- can't say. . Has disc brakes all around. Otherwise they are fine. None are at 15K yet. And parking brake shoes were replaced also around 10-15K miles ago..

Any ideas?????????

Thanks, Bob

first i would say check your brake fluid. i had the same problem with my zj and i added a little bit of fluid and it seemed to go away...either that or whatever was grinding on my truck ground itself away

You could have had a brake pad detach from the backing. If that is the case, you will need a new rotor (and pads). I just had this happen two weeks ago. New Brake pads for rear=$30 and the new rotor was $22. Took about 15 minutes to fix. Slide under there and check both sides of each rotor for grooving and check the thickness of the brake pads.
