On-Board computer question?

My 98 GC has on on-board computer that tells you all sorts of things about the jeep, but what I was wondering is if there is anyway to change the service interval on it. The thing is I run sythetic oil and only change it every 5,000mi. The jeep is pre-set for 3,000. Does anyone know if this can be changed. Thanks alot for your help in advance.

yes you can change it from 2500 to 7500 in 500 mile increments....get in and close the doors, push the select button untl you see miles, push and hold down set until it starts to blink then keep pushing the select button until 5000 miles to service comes up, then hit the set button again and your done...
