Bilstiens or Black Diamonds...

I have RC shocks on the ZJ right now but I hate them. I plan to get new shocks and some other goodies soon but the list is longer than the cash allows. I need to decide what shocks to buy, I can get four Bilstiens for $235 or go cheap and get BDs, would I be just as happy with the cheapies and get more other parts or should I go for the gold? I have a 3-4" lift and it will stay that way for a long time. What do you guys think?

Bilsteins by a mile. Twin tube shocks (BD's) don't even compare to mono tubes (bilsteins)

i heard good things about the black diamonds. i was actaully going to get them before i found out they didnt make them for a 6.5" lift. grab the black diamonds if you are on a budget. you will be more than happy with them

Keep in mind that the Bilstein 5100 series shocks have only a 90 day warranty. Yes, they are an excellent shock, but that short warranty period always worries me.

The MX6 monotubes aren't really available in a good length for 4" of lift. You might consider the RE monotubes as they have a lifetime warranty and are made by Edelbrock so the quality is excellent.

I have BD's and love them...no need to spend a months paycheck on a fancy name shock.

I got my Black Diamonds, took a while with shipping, almost 4 weeks to get the shocks (my lift was sitting anxiously in the corner of my room while my springs were "shipping"). The ride is ok, still stiff. My friend thinks mine rides a lot smoother than his, but the bumps are so harsh on my jeep.

I went with RE monotubes because they were longer than mx6's and rs9000's and I'm glad I did because my lift will flex them end to end. I really wanted adjustables but I am happy with these. Monotubes ride a bit stiffer than twin tubes but they are more "heavy duty"

this topic gets talked about and talked about sooo many times to where I believe the true answer should be blah blah blah. Just get a set already and find out for yourself...cause all it leads to is a debate (sometimes heated) and no one on here seems to ever be wrong.

Black Diamonds........Plain And Simple. They Perform as good or better then the $$$$$Shocks, and come with a Lifetime Warranty.

having had both... bilsteins win by a mile! Right now they are buy three get one free, I have black diamonds used for sale if anyone is interested, keep in mind the average poster here is a teenager and must not have much shock experience, Or replaced there blown shocks out with black diamonds, If your original shocks are bad enough anything will seem better but they are poor quality. But buy mine please they have around 12,000 miles or so on them.
