bigger spare with bigger new tires?

if i go out and buy lets say a 265/70 and my spare is a 225/75 or anyother size other than 265/70. is that bad? or do i need to buy 5 tires. cuz i never hear of people doin that.

if you have limited slip in the rear then if you get a flat in the rear you need to move one of your front tires to the rear and put the spare on the front...


Its a good Idea to just have a same size spare

Which t-case do you have?


With the NV247 (Quadra-Trac II) it's imperative to run the same sized tires all around. It's been suggested to me that with these t-cases the spare should be the same and included in the rotation.

With the 242 and open diffs, the difference in size won't cause a problem.

i have the 242 selc-trac and stock diffs so i assume they are open diffs. so your saying with my set up thats okay?

You should be good just done have it in 4wd if you have the smaller tire on there.
