how difficult would it be to basically do what the WJ's do to raise the gas tank, and cut out the cargo floor, raise the tank and create a new floor above it (thats the slighty modified version of the WJ one =P) Or just fuel cell inside...

Fuel cell inside ? Nope, not in my life time. I will take my family with me and thats not safe.

I may just end up raising the floor, not sure yet, there is a ton of mud around the tank that needs to be power washed then Ill look into in further.

There is one being made by a company as we speak but no release date yet. Cell is an option, just need to make measurements...

I could build my own cell too... Raising the tank, and rear cargo area floor might be my choice.

Well it looks like you have that all under control. My question...why'd you extend the wheelbase? Everyone has their reasons, I just wanna hear yours =D

Wanting to tackle steeper climbs, and mostly for a killer departure angle. ZJs are brutal with their departure angle and that needed some attention.

Gotcha. I know some of the East coast states have certain limitations that they must maintain (height of headlamps/tail lights from ground, etc). I though Cali would have that too. No biggie.

27" from ground to bottom of frame, and the bottom of frame can vary from cop to cop from what i've heard (crossmember, frame rail, etc. No set "Frame").

Also, thats only for being street legal. Not street legal = no restrictions.

Yeah your right its up to the Police really, as CA has laws, but no required testing.

more progress

Sunday work sucks…. But got a lot done.

Rear Upper Coil mounts have been relocated 5 ˝” from original location.
Also welded down the lower coil buckets to the axle mounts.

Drivers side shot…

I also needed to fab a front Track Bar, I had my old Poison Spyder Customs Steering (Tie Rod) from the D30 crap.

Bling

1 ˝” OD, ˝” thick

2” Johnny Joints at each end, from Clayton Offroad.

Checking for clearances

It fits…

This is by no means the flex, I have TONS of cutting to do. TONS.
Driver front tire is only rubbing on the front bumper at the moment.

Stuff to do.
Steering, I have everything just need more time.
Fuel tank… I need to remove it and determine if I want to Raise it into the rear Cargo area, or install a cell and up into the cargo area, which would require fabbing a new floor for the cargo area.
Limiting straps. Without a doubt, or the rear coils will be all over the place.Adjust and set from axle angles.
Remove all ABS system
Install Line Locks etc etc etc.
