You will sure feel the difference with the K&N FIPK because it has way less restriction than the OEM. Unfortunately way less restriction means that it doesn't filter the air for crap. You may as well stick some panty hose on the end of your stock air tube. You will get the same results. Waste of money IMO.

Swapping a good running 5.2 for a 5.9 is a waste to only gain .7 liters of displacement with no other benefits. I recently built a 5.2 for my buddy's 97 ZJ. I did some bowl blending and porting on the stock heads, cut the intake runners and smoothed them out, installed a cam from Hughes (.512/.520 lift) with matching springs and retainers, and degreed it in and used a double roller timing set. This combination made for a torque monster. It's a little sluggish off the line, due to the short intake runners, but after 2,000 RPM's it screams until redline. It easily would blow the doors off a stock 5.9.

That is on the stock PCM, injectors, and TB. With an SCT tuner, larger injectors, and a 52mm TB, it would be ridiculously fast for a mildly modded Jeep.

Want to swap an NP242 or NP231 into your ZJ? Here's how:

Anyone know where we can find a 52mm tb? I've been looking for quite a while to buy one as I don't have the equipment to do this myself

You can take it to a local machine shop and they will most likely do it for much cheaper than what you would pay otherwise. http://www.thefastman.com/throttlebodies5x.php

You can do ford 24# injectors or Dodge neon 703 injectors. What ever you find at the JY first.
