when I got my jeep the previous owner took the carpet out due to a leaking sunroof/wet carpet which got moldy. I've since fixed the leak I believe and want to put carpet back in it and have a few questions. First is has anyone ever bought carpet before? I'm not sure where a good place to go thru is or if I should just start calling junk yards. Also to install new carpet I'm assuming I'll have to remove the front/rear seats to get it all in along with trim panels/center console correct?
Any tips/tricks for where to get it from and installation is appreciated, thanks!
Its not fun. Yep all the stuff has to come out.No holes are precut. Google automotive carpet. You'll see two main brands that are sold. You get extra on the sides but measure twice cut once especially at the console, down in the front foot wells and up around the bottom of the ashtray area. You can get with a rubber type backing if you wish. If you could find a really good JY set it would be easier.

I got mine for my '82 Cherokee from Stock Interiors, and the carpet was manufactured by ACC. I had the interior stripped down at the time which made installation easy. As far as the carpet itself was concerned I was very happy with the quality, the mass backing option really helped the sound deadening as well.
