Hey guys so what kinds of coolant do you use? I just ordered the silla 1 row all aluminum. When I get it I was thinking seriously about flushing the cooling system. I was then thinking of adding prestone 50/50 extended life. I can't see paying 5 times as much probably for Mopar coolant when I doubt its any different. I'm also thinking of the 50/50 not only because thats what is recommended in the owners manual, but also because winters here in northern NY get well below zero sometimes.

I'm currently running the Peak in a gold bottle (orange stuff). I think I am going to flush and give the Amsoil stuff a try.

My buddy was having problems with his xj overheating, I was joking around and said he should get a sprayer for an intercooler ( example ) And just run washer fluid through it. Long story short we now had the idea in our heads. After he fixed the problem (clogged radiator) he grabbed a washer fluid bottle from the yard down the road for like $5, put some vacuum hose we had laying around, and a couple little nozzles and fabbed it up. Worked like a charm, I was honestly impressed with how much it helped.

Now I know its just a band aid for the real problem, but figured I'd toss it out there incase it could possibly help anyone else out

Ok so to my disappointment I got an email saying the ebay seller only had one silla 2451aa in stock and it was dmaged and they are not expected to receive more. I really want that radiator and need one soon. Highlonesome what engine do you have? The ebay listings show that silla radiator is fine for a 5.9 but sillas website only says its ok for the 5.2. I'm wondering if it would work with the electric fan fitment?

the 5.9 and 5.2 use the same radiator don't they? They are the same engine block just a few things different internally.

The difference in radiators is in the trans cooler fittings. I don't use it so it was no matter. My Silla came with no fittings at all. Nothing but the radiator itself. You may have to purchase adapters if you get the Silla. The holes are AN -6 or -8, not sure.

I just cut the holes beneath the vents on my hood much wider. I just made it one big rectangle and took out all the sheet metal above the rain trays. I could already tell that the under hoods temps were lower after driving by touching it.

I ordered up the stuff from Amsoil today. I only ordered 1 gallon of coolant and one container (pint I think) of the Dominator, I think that should be sufficient since I won't be able to completely purge all of the existing stuff from the system. I have a long weekend wheeling trip planned up in Ouray the second weekend in September, so that will be the real test.

I agree I was curious about the electric fan fitting seeing as how the 5.2 doesn't have one as far as I know.
