BB, wheels, and tires

Ok guys, I have searched and searched and seen many different answers to these questions so maybe we can set thing straight with this thread.

1) Is it true that 15 inch wheels won't fit on a wj due to the brakes?

2) If you have a 2"BB (16 x 8 wheels seem to be popular) what backspacing should you run with 245 75 16's or 265 70 16's?

3) Will 265 70 16's rub with a 2"BB?

These are pretty popular questions that seem to have different answers everytime I see them. Just hope to clear them up. Or maybe you can tell me what you have done weather it was successful or not. Thanks

These are all wj ?'s

1. Yes

2. 4.75" is perfect IMO - factory is about 6"

3. Mine did, but you can trim the front bumper fascia at the bottom and part of the plastic inner fenderwell. See my link for pictures of some of the trimmed area's.

There is at least one WJer running 15s. His backspacing is very small allowing him to run them.

Hunter
It might be worth mentioning that having your tires out TOO far may cause them to rub when you flex if you don't have proper length bumpstops. Would you agree hunter?

Also tig, you can see my pics at my link. They are stock 16X8 wheels. They rub a little from time to time at the places 10achic mentioned. minor trimming took care of most of it. If you want any kind of serious flex I would recommend smaller tires or bigger lift. I don't think I would try to plant a corner on a boulder and turn the wheel at the same time with my set-up. It is 90% DD.

You can call me Ken, Thanks for the cudo's man, I really appreciate it. It's coming along little by little. Gotta get sliders next, after I get that pesky cv joint fixed. Yea it's a 16 X 8 wheel, I'm actually in the process of taking the stock silverblades and stripping them down and painting them with eastwoods black satin wheel paint an using those for wheeling and winter driving so I don't mess up my nice ones.

Not sure about the others, but the wheels should fit. The general rule of thumb is that the wheel size must be 4" bigger then the rotor (i.e 19" ferrari enzo wheels, 15" rotors is as big as you can go) I believe the zj's are all 11" or so, so you will be fine

I got my eagles from an auto shop around here called Dobbs, they are a pretty big chain. I paid about $600 or so for the polished ones, You can do a search for Eagle Series 123 and you should find something. They are 16X8, lugs:5on5, and 4.75"bs. Although I did hear from someone looking for them that they were on backorder, but you should be able to find something out.
