Try pouring some watered down lysol(or something along those lines) into the fresh air intake right in front of the windsheild while you have the a/c,fan or watever you choose. it should kill some of the musty and mold in there.

Or indirectly spray some air sanitizer stuff below the dash where the recirculating air intake is, while you have the blower on recirculate.

To prevent the mold/musty smell, i try to turn off my a/c, defrost, fan about 5 mins before i get home, so that it has enough time to clear the moisture out of the system. B/c the mositure staying inthere is causing the bad smell

Good idea..Your referring to the blower motor underneath the passanger dash i suppose? Is there a certain place to drill that would be more beneficial?

Matt,

you guys are talking different models so be very specific so you don't get the hole in the wrong place.

I just spray the interior with febreeze and then run the recirc on the A/c, no more bad smells.

Wreck,
Do you have the filter in your air intake?
If you remove the plastic grill underneath the wipers, you can look down inside to tell. I know there is a filter available for your year Jeep, though not all of them have the filter installed.
If you do, it may have gotten wet and mildewed... just my
