Registered User | They are far removed from quality. I purchased one for my old '93 after the factory unit died at 187,000 miles. The AutoZone unit lasted 18,000 miles. Exchanged at no cost, and lasted until I sold it with 233,000 to my neighbor. Still going strong. I did mention to the manager that the rebuilt unit lasted only 18,000 miles and his was reply was that I was lucky I got that much mileage out of the unit! |

Fairly sure the voltage regulator is in the computer not on the alternator. __________________ - Joe - '95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo I6 4.0L 242TC - Extreme Engineering 2" Front Lift/1.75" Rear Lift - ES9000 Shocks + JKS BPEs Moog Cargo Control Springs Magnaflow Converter - Dynomax Muffler 235/75/15 AT Uniroyal Liberator Tires |

It will cost me more but my time is too valuable and if I have to do it twice then the savings go right down the toilet. __________________ Cheers Steve Trained Professional Crack-pot Go RU & WVU Football Teams 94 Black Laredo 4-Liter with QuadraTrac (42RE trans & NP249 TC) 200,000 + miles purchased new 03 4Runner V8 (my wife's car) 94 Volvo 850 (my 16-yr old daughter's car) Five cylinder 88 Cherokee 2-door with 5speed manual 139K miles(deceased) purchased new |

Bought a new one from AutoZone and almost exactly 1 year and 4 days to the date the AutoZone bearings went out. They offered me a new one and I told them they could keep it. Went to Napa on the way home and bought a new one from them; sold the 96 in July of this year, probably still working. 218,000 miles I went to AutoZone last Saturday and bought some wheel cleaner and a funnel. AutoZone for stuff in bottles like engine coolent AutoZone for parts ![]() __________________ 1998 Jeep Grand Limited Who's your daddy 5.9L K&N Tube W/AEM Brute Force Dry Filter Element Mopar Performance Wires Old Man EMU B&M Supper Trans Cooler Perma-Cool Oil Cooler Power Slot Rotors Hawk Pads FlowMaster 70 Series CatCo onverter 3" Exhaust Michelin LTX M/S 30X9.5RR15 Infinity Kappa 62.7i Speakers Auto Rx Amsoil Oil Filter- Amsoil 10W30 Synthetic Oil |

So while something may have a "lifetime warrenty" after a certain point, legally in the fine print, its worth nothing __________________ "Within the mind lies the greatest of all evils...Eternity" - Enigma02S 2000 Millenia S...Five figure spending account 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee...Gone but never forgotton 2003 BMW M3 SMG...For Sale, PM if interested 2000 "Jeep Grand Cherokee...4.7, Quadra-Drive, Loaded. "A dark and bitter chill fills the air. once thriving life wallows away into ash as he slithers past, the very stars themselfs part to make way for his haunting, yet oddly claim arrival.
