Bad double cardan in front DS

So I thought that one of my 2 u-joints in my front DS was going bad because I was getting a "chirping" noise that I had a few months back when one of them did go bad. I took out the DS yesterday, and the whole double cardan wouldn't move freely around. I had to put a lot of effort into moving it. There was no seal on the middle part (ball joint part), and it seemed that a ring was loose in there, but around the ball joint.
How can i fix this? I cannot go to autozone and buy a whole new DS for 350, and it has the CV joint part on the DS near the diff.
I'm going to just put some grease in it for now to hopefully quiet it down a bit. It chirps like crazy and I can hear it doing about 35 mph.

so i found this on CL - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Transfer Case w/ front driveshaft

if I offer some money for just the DS, would that double cardan be the right size? Will the driveshaft maybe even just swap right in? I'll offer him $20 for it.

You can also take the shaft to a driveline shop for repair/rebuild, or do it yourself. SEARCH. There are numerous thereads on driveshaft rebuild , some iin the last week.

The one on craigslist probably has issues, too. Lube yours up and run with it.

Can't you just rebuild it? I think I remember seeing a thread on it last year.

Edit: Found it: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/d...w-pics-480311/

Check Ebay. I bought a pinion yoke from a TJ for $12 and a double cardan X u joint driveshaft from a GC for $60.
Everything bolted right up. I have a 249 TC.

I'm sure napa would either have them or could have them the next day.

I work down the street from Napa, so tomorrow I'll be taking a drive down there.
So the list goes as what I should be buying -

Spicer ball centering kit
2 U-joints
CV repair Kit

is that all?
the repair seems pretty easy
