Bad CV joint

What are the signs of a bad CV joint on a '94 Grand Cherokee Laredo?

If you are driving along, and suddenly all the bearings fall out of your CV joint, that would be a sign it is probably bad..

Alternatively, if you hear a fairly loud clicking sound, especially when turning, your CV joint is probably on it's way out. Grinding is another possible sound, but is not as common as the clicking.
If you have been driving for a while with a torn boot, you have probably killed your CV joint.

I check my boots every couple weeks, my 97 tends to eat them..
