My ds axle seal is leaking. Can I just toss in a set of These tube seals and be good for now?

i would not recomend it, it is best to just do it the right way the first time.
i had them, and i greased them once, and never again after that, so if you do end up getting them, be shure to grease them like every 2 weeks, other wise, the rubber dissapears.

The axle seals can't be more than $15 or so each. You will have more $$$ in gear lube than seals.

No, they are for keeping dirt and water out, not keeping the oil in. You run the risk of filling the housing with oil, allowing the level in the diff to get low enough to ruin the pinion bearing.

Did you have Alloys? They went through 3 generations of them before they got them right. The first generation I destroyed in 15". The latest set is now about a year old, I grease them every 3k miles.

How hard is it to replace the seals? Any special tools?

Also how hard is it to replace the pinion seal cause that leaks too.
