axle ID tag

how do i decipher the axle ID tag on my hp30? im pretty sure the 3.55 is the gear ratio but the rest im clueless on

there is nothing else to decipher, really. It is indeed a 3.55 ratio, thus the 3 55 on the tag in the corner.

What did it come out of?

Not sure on how to do that. from what ive seen most of them are pretty close to the build date of the jeep.

what year XJ did it come from?

if it has a vac disconnect, its from a pre 92.

no clue, the guy i bought it from bought the housing for the axle shafts then just sold the housing minus the shafts and unit bearings and it does not have vac disconnect so its newer than a 92

Manufacturing date should be stamped on cover side of the long tube
