Auto light problem 98 5.9 limiter

Can't get my auto light setting to work I've tried 2 different light switch panels still no luck. Are the 2 sensors on the dash related? One on drivers side has like two little lens, one on pass. Side looks like a black light blub in shape. Any help would greatful. And if not related what are those sensors? Thank in advance!! John

I have not used my auto light setting ever. I like flipping switches. Why do you care?

Pretty sure the auto light function has to be programmed at the dealer.

The sensor on the passenger side is the solar sensor that gives input to your automatic temp control to determine how cold the inside of the Jeep should be. The one on the driver side is the automatic headlight sensor that tells the headlights when it is dark enough to turn on.

Don't ask me how to fix them. I do know that once you remove that top plastic cover that goes across the entire dash, the auto headlight sensor comes off with one screw and one clip. There is a connector right under it.
