Anybody else have a 2WD ZJ?

I never see any 2wd ZJ's in the local junkyards. I have no idea how many were made but it seems that it can't be a very large percentage. Does anybody else on here have one or it is just me?

Count me in the 2wd zj club. Still kicking with almost 178k miles. It gets me most places I need to go. I just don't push its limits since I've grown up a bit

Mine has a 4.0L and a little bit shy of 220000mi. I drive it about 25-30k a year as my dd and can't complain about the 20-21mpg I get every tank. Only things its ever needed are trans soleniod and pressure sensor, H2O pump, and radiator. I am looking to fix it up a bit as it has the battle scars of a 16 year old dd. I have a Niner hood for it but no vents yet. Looking to pick up a Niner grill too and I will be painting the sun-faded plastic.

Anybody got pics of theirs?

There's a bunch of them here in FL. Not many in JY's though. I think they last longer; less to go wrong and don't take off-road beatings the way 4wd's do.

I own a 2wd ZJ it's my dd also I love it though as much as people say 2wd jeeps aren't "real jeeps" it's doesn't matter to me it's easy to modify and it's awesome for road trips also I live in Florida so no snow mountains or hills so I get pretty good mpg and for the times I go off road very few times but when I do she has never let me down and I can still tow stuff

Just got a 98 2wd ZJ with a 4.0L. It was sitting across the street from my house for over a year and never moved. Then a few weeks ago the lady started moving so I ran over and asked about it. All she would tell me is that the left rear tire blew out and the next day it wouldn't start. The tread seperated and whacked the crap out of the rear bumper and side cladding.

Put a new battery in along with cable ends and it fired right up (for a minute) then stalled. Did this several times until I swapped the fuel pump relay with the horn relay and then it ran for over an hour. Still need to clean all the grounds on the side of the engine (brilliant placement under the leaky valve cover).

Future plans are to convert it to 4WD. There are a bunch of both 2wd/4wd ZJ's on Craigs List that are being parted out.

That one is the same color as mine, the paint looks like baby crap in the sun. Can't change that color fast enough.

You need to wash and wax your Jeep. The chargold is awesome in the sun or shade when its cleaned, waxed, and polished the gold flake pops. Plus it doesn't show dirt as much. Maybe its just my Jeep?

My paint is starting to fade and it's peeling on the back hatch. About getting time to repaint it and this just isn't my color. Going to more of a gunmetal when I do paint it.

Ah I understand now. Gun metal will look sharp on a zj, good luck with the project!

Probably going to go with the Summit Paints and do it next summer. Gonna lay some silver stripes on it though since that's kinda my thing and I like painting stripes.
