Any Love for "Mothers" products

Wash and wax the GC this past weekend. Just used Mequiers cleaner and wax. I has some Mothers Carnuba lying around so I used some of that. What do you folks like to use?

I never wash or wax my Jeep.

However, I like to use ArmorAll Original Protectant on the dash and door panels, and ArmorAll leather treatment for the seats. I like my interior to be nice. Oh, and RainX for the windshield.

I fear if I wash the Jeep, then I won't recognize it and have to walk home.

^hahaha!!!!

When I wash I use ArmorAll products but for wax, I use Turtle wax. Its time tested and you know it works. I used the Mothers once on the '71 Riviera and it felt waxed but didn't look like it. I wasn't impressed.

mothers is crap.

Look up these guys:

Jax Wax, Professional Strength Car Wax and Car Care Products, Fast and Easy to Use

Best detailing products I have EVER used.

Here is a side shot of my camaro to show you the depth you can achieve. Granted it is a much higher quality paintjob, but you can still see the depth of their wax products.

I personally like P&S ultra-coat wax and ultra-coat polish. Its synthetic and lasts at least 6 months as long as you was your car at least once a week (i.e. don't let salt from the winter sit on it forever) I waxed my tow rig with it in june and the water still beads like the first day I waxed it. Its good stuff although kinda hard to find in your chain stores. I get it at this website: P & S Sales, Store, Paint Restoration Products

its a little more expensive but a little bit goes a long ways. You dont have to sit there and put a lot of elbow grease into it either. Just apply a very thin coat (no need to get a haze going like carnuba) and polish/buff it off. Its kinda along the lines of the way you apply rain-x. Its not actually marketed as a 'wax'. It's called a 'paint sealant' since it is a polyurethane product, it almost bonds to the paint. It is impressive how it can bring back even dull, nasty finishes

Mothers FX SynWax is definitely the best i've ever used. Works awesome on a black vehicle.

Never waxed the jeep though.

I use Zymol and love it. But I did recently clay bar it with a mothers kit and I liked the results. But for my 2 month waxing, I stick to Zymol.

Mothers and Miguiers are as good as you can get off the shelf in my opinion. For what it's worth I detailed cars professionally for several years. First thing I did when I bought my latest project was use Mothers Clay bar and Miguiers cleaner wax. Armor all is crap in my opinion. Use Neets Foot oil on your leather and Black Magic for any vinyl stuff you want to shine.

Doogie, why specifically is ArmorAll crap, in your opinion? I use it, and I'm satisfied with it, but then again I've never really tried any other brand.
