Any Ideas what this plug is?

Was popping the hood on my zj yesterday while it was running and noticed a blue light blinking up under the dash. I looked closer and found this, appears to be aftermarket, but not sure. It blinks blue all the time, even when engine is off, key removed. Blinks green while running. Any ideas what it is?

Remote start?

I'd look for some markings on the unit and try googling..

That's an NSA tracking device. Seen any black helicopters?

Really, If it's a remote start and you dont use it, take it out.

Aftermarket keyless entry maybe? Low jack?

Another board I go to had a thread just like this. Turns out it's a tracker from a car rental company. Your jeep was probably a rental at the beginning of it's life.

Some used car dealerships use them as well. Buyer can't make a payment, it's easy to find the car.

Haha, nice. I think I will be removing it then. I didn't buy mine from a used car lot, and it is definitely aftermarket. Thanks for the help!
