If nothing will extend when you turn the radio on or can't grab with needle nose pliers. you'll need to remove antenna and remove bolt in center of black cover to remove broken section. will need to remove inner fender well plastic and insulating foam and should be able to partially remove antenna to remove cover.

same thing happened to me, it looked like a pain to replace the stock antenna and i figured it would eventualy break off again so i went to advanced auto parts and bought the inside amplified glass mount antenna, MUCH easier to install

okay so you're talking about removing the tube from the actual motor assembly right?

No I thought you had the mast out. If part of it is still on power antenna. The nut on the fender requires a special tool I just used some channel locks to remove. You can tape it or use something to protect the chrome if it matters to you. Once nut is off you should be able to pull remainder of mast out. There is a plastic part that is attached to the mast that's what I thought you had trouble removing. If it's not damaged you should be able to have someone turn on the radio and pull it out as it extends.

yeah theres the little metal piece that is at the bottom of the mast that holds the antenna in the parked position when its down -- keeps it from goin into the hole furtner -- i cant get that part out -- but i have an extra tube i can switch out and attatch to the motor --
