Another noob with yet another turn signal question

I'm no noob to online car forums, but I'm a Jeep noob. This is my first one as a matter of fact. I've purchased a 1997 GC 4.0 for my daughter as her first car. She's just turned 16 a few months back. Got the thing for $500 needing some repairs. I've done the lions share of them thus far and I'm working through the rest. The one I'm stuck with right now are the turn signals.

When I got the thing both cluster lights were on but the turn signals would not work. I would press the switch in either direction and the corresponding light would go out, but no flashy flashy. Now that it is repair time... neither cluster indicator illuminates. First thing first being a Chrysler guy..... replace the turn signal switch. In my history of owning many Neon's and PT Cruisers.... always replace that first..... So I did. No change. Ok, well lets see about the flasher relay. To my dismay there wasn't one in the slot slated for the relay. I got one and put in. No change.

That's where I'm at now. I've pulled a handful of fuses and found nothing blown. I've yet to scour under the hood for blown fuses... only been digging in the kick panel.

What I'd like is a diagram of the fuse layout and a schematic of the turn signal system.

Thanks in advance folks.

I don't know the answer, but this website has service manual chapters for browsing. Try "Turn Signals and Hazard."

simplest question... did you check the bulbs?

as for fuses under the hood going by the manual there is nothing for turn signals/flasher in the PDC... kick panel fuse #6 & #13 are listed as affecting the turnsignals/flashers

How many relays does it take to power the finger?
