so i've had my jeep for almost 2 years now, joined jeepforum back in june, didnt post anything til last month, and now i figured its finally time to start a build thread
this is the earliest picture i can find and at this point i hadn't done anything to jeep except get it dirty. it was all stock when i bought it with the exception of the wheels (they were painted black but as far as i can tell they are centerline modstars) and 29" toyo at's.
first thing i did was chop the bottom off the bumper and put on some fog lights. hadn't ruined the paint job yet at this point
next was the tires...31" maxxis bighorn
at some point in there, before the tires i think, i changed all the brakes. rebuilt the back drums and put vented rotors and new calipers on the front, with new pads of course. i guess i should also mention that after i put the tires on i was rubbing all the time just going over speedbumps. i guess jeeps weren't made to have 31's without any lift. good thing i had already trimmed my bumper. i was also missing all my bump stops so im sure that didnt help any.
right after i put on the 2" bb
after that, since i had no money, i just wheeled it every day i could. in january of this year i replaced the ball joints, tre's, trackbar, and shocks. in march i put on a kor radiator support/tow point. in may i put on jks disconnects. in june i put on a flowmaster 40 that my friend gave me off his mustang, so its pretty loud and not really made for an i6, but i like it. and last month i took out the fan/fan clutch and replaced it with an electric fan from an escort. took me all day but it was definitely worth it!
a few days ago i discovered i needed a new trackbar pretty badly and tomorrow i am ordering an IRO double sheer conversion and hopefully that will keep me on the road a little longer! anyway, thats my jeep! and even if no one looks at this at least i will have a way to keep track of what i have done
