Another 5.9 in my hands real cheap

I think I either bough a world of trouble or a nice parts jeep

I was going to buy this for $800 but when I got there , a few things turned me off . The door lock was messed up on the pass side , not super ugly , but , ugly never the less . Steering column has had work and now the BCM thinks the key is in the ignition . If it doesn't effect the doors locking , I'll probably just disconnect the chime if possible .

Rear rotors are shot but I have a spare pair like new . 1 CV boot is ripped but have 2 spares . Trans went for a swim but I have one of those too . Taking the gamble it will work when I'm done with it . Any other work waits till then . It starts tomorrow

Interior needs a good cleaning but is in nice shape . VIC will need to be done . Other than that , inside will be like new when I'm done with it

I refused the deal after I looked it over $800 was too much for me to really bother with all the work needed . He dropped to $500 . Kinda made it too hard to resist . I mean , the body has very very little sign of rust , the interior is intact , the wheels and tires decent , perfect grille , good hoodvents , motor does sound great but needs mounts and a new harmonic balancer . So , I bought it for the $500 figuring , if my trans doesn't work and the build doesn't continue , I have more than I paid in parts to sell .

Nice work. I'd take a $500 Niner any day.

Wanna post up some pics of the trailer? I'm kicking around the idea of one for the Jeep.

Also, I'll be up by you in a month for work.

It's really clean . Under the doors , hood lip and hatch has a couple very very minor surface rust spots which could be easily touched up . Spotless underneath .

Only body issues are with the front bumper cover(have one arranged to p/u today , color match $30) and damage around the pass side door lock . Need a door really or weld in a patch panel and repaint . I'm waiting , I will find a door somewhere

Pulling it up to the garage door get pressure washed this morning . Then drag it in the garage . Clean up the interior and do some more poking around to make a to do list .

Monday starts the trans swap . Need it running before I spend or fix anything .

Will post up some pics later and give the bad news on the estimates

OK , few more pics . Got it pretty much detailed . Needed motivation I guess to start the trans swap , lol . I am pleasantly surprised to find the interior came out like near new , and the body is in fantastic shape . Both came out better than first thought . Honestly , it's in better shape than my slate one physically minus the front bumper . Cover is off the steering column .

here are the pics , I'm motivated now

Outside the trans , here are the issues that need dealing with
-oil change
-full tune up and throttle cleaning
-harmonic balancer
-rear brakes (got rotors)
-CV joint (got parts)
-Rear track bar (have a stock spare)
-door and bumper cover
-signals and one fog light need replacing
-AC compressor squeals but has new evaporator
-muffler and cat (can almost hear it's restricted somewhat from the water)cat rattles .
-rear wiper needs attention , maybe motor , maybe fuse
-low temp sensor for e-fan is bad . Fan works great .
-control arm bushings are shot on the front lower axle side , big surprise there

Everything else works , heated seats too. Also the speakers dont crack . Issues are minor
