Angry Sparrow Syndrome?

when i got in my 93' grand today i noticed a chirpping noise and a friend of mine said something about the "angry sparrow syndrome" something to do with the U joint. anyone know anything about this? and further more my cat. converter is ratteling. can cats "burn out". thanks for the help guys, lately it just seems to be one thing after another.

Angry sparrow - u-joints? Dunno, that's a new one on me.

Yup, cats can burn out, they can also rattle forever, they can also collapse internally and choke off airflow so that power is reduced - sometimes to the point of engine not running above idle, or not running at all. A partial blockage can often be identified by a loss of power under WOT, with a "whooshing" sound from the exhaust.

Yes Catalytic Converters are basically ceramic honeycomb in some configuration. As it breaks up, the pieces rattle around inside like coins in a can.

Heck yeah they can burn out. I replaced mine a couple of years ago.
