Alternate fixes to rips on side of leather seat?

I was wondering if anyone had alternate ways other than vinyl repair kits and seat covers to repair rips and tears in the side of leather seats. My tear is painfully visible on my seat, black duct tape works good for a couple of weeks but I was looking for a more permanent fix. I can't really think of anything and I'm pretty innovative.

ebay seat covers

I called a local upholstery place and they said to redo the back rest and the seat it would be about $250 :/ My seats are ripped pretty bad, but comfy as $#!7, and I dont think I would get that same comfort on a re-done seat, not to mention having to fork over $500 bucks. I checked ebay for some seat covers and there are some pretty decent ones for under a 100 bucks for a pair.

Leather is really nice though and I like the whole fung shway flow of my Jeep! Plus the back seats are mint, the passenger is in really good condition, and the driver's side is good besides the one side. I have a vinyl decal I'm gonna try putting over it but I'm not expecting it to work but it's worth a shot.
