alarm horn , interior light work with ign switch on or acc but not off position?

99 GC loredo

my alarm horn doesnt sound or flash lights when I lock/unlock truck via keyfob - BUT it does lock/unlock doors,
interior lights dont work, center display doesnt work, with ignition in off position BUT once key is on or acc
position the interior lights and overhead console turn on an eberything works fine?

I also remember messing with key fob and with ignition on or acc panic sounded horn..

Not sure if a ignition switch can do this and dont know how to check?

Anyone seen this or know how to fix?

thanks
joe

You more than likely have a bad wire somewhere between the battery and BCM. I had the exact same issues when I bought my 2000. I wasnt too worried about it at first since it was just more annoying than anything. But it eventually affected my Sentry Key Immobilizer System and disabled my Jeep completely. I had to have it towed to the stealership thinking I would need the SKIS reprogrammed to my key, but they found a bad wire, fixed it, and everything worked again. They charged me $180 for everything.

Check in the owners manual for programmable features.

Did not find any programmable features but options in the over head does show flashing lights and horn ON...

Question.. Can it be the stock factory security system? Cant find any specific fuse or detail about it...

I am toying around testing things.. keyfob only locks/unlocks door locks .. no flashing lightd or horn, and panic doesnt do anything.. Maybe I am wrong, but I tried to arm alarm while sitting inside, waited 1 minute
and opened door... nothing happened..

Anyone know a way to check the stock alarm to see if it died or something? truck runs fine..

thanks!
Joe

My Jeep did the same things to the letter! Refer to my previous post for your solution.

Your talking about harness between the Junction block bcm plug and battery?
