Airbag light on in dash

I'm going to buy a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee from my buddy. It's been in his family since new. The airbag light is on in the dash and it's never been in an accident and the airbags have never deployed. Is there anything I can do to get the light off. If it's a big deal I'm not going to worry about it, but if something simple I plan on fixing it. Please let me know. Thanks.

Brian
