Air Filter and Spark Plugs (gas millage)

I know that a clean air filter and fresh spark plugs will help with gas milage, but I don't want to go out and drop money when it won't really help.

Wondering how I should know when to replace the spark plugs. Is there a way to look at them? I have had the jeep for a little over a year and have not touched them, but don't know when the previous owner replaced them. Should I just do it anyway, or what?

A fram air filter costs 16 bux at meijers... IMO that is quite excessive, making me ask; "is there a cheaper place to get one"?, and "will this even matter"?

Besides this; are there any other suggestions as to improve gas millage, because I am getting pretty frustrated with mine.

get tthe new filter, that about the right price. also, air up your ties, that can help. might as well change the plugs, that way you know they are good.

are you lifted?

You should do the plugs @ 30000 miles.

What is your current gas mileage (do not use the VIC for this)?

If it is horrible then it could very well be the upstream O2 sensor.

Change the spark plugs, air filter, Cap, rotor, and spark wires every 30,000 miles.

Gas filter is your call. I replace mine at 30k miles but it can probably go to 60,000 miles since gas is delivered very clean today and the gas tank is plastic.

Thanks for the reply.

I am not lifted, everything is stock. Im lame and don't offroad.

I don't check my millage except from what the display tells me on the ceiling and that says that I have 15.5.

What is Cap and rotor? Not familiar...

I think I will change spark plugs and wires, as well as the filter cause I just checked it and it sucks.

Any suggestions for part or procedures for these? I know for plugs and wires to pull off and put on new; that is it.

Air filter can't be that hard...

Thanks guys.
