Air Conditioning just failed, help please.

I just got my Jeep back on the road after replacing the PCM. I drove it today and after about an hour on the hiway I heard a loud screech followed by increasingly warmer air coming from my a/c vents. I pulled over and looked at the compressor and sure enough the clutch looks like it melted.

What should I do? Replace it with a remanfactured compressor w/clutch or try to replace the bearing and clutch?

Thanks in advance

take the belt off and see what kind of shape the shaft is in by doing an end play check.

if it feels okay, i'd go for a clutch replacement if you can find one.

Clurch bad or did the compressor lock up?
You can purchase new compressors for @ $150, but naturally the system would then need to be evacuated and recharged.
