Aftermarket headlight ZJ bulb issue

I'm new here on this forum and I have a question about a Grand Cherokee ZJ from 1994. Well it is actually for my dad, he has the car and he has to pass the inspection next month.

He recently ordered new aftermarket headlights from Spec-d. Everything fits so that is not the problem, the only thing is that the OEM headlight (H4) does not fit in the housing.
So I figured out it must be an american sized bulb that must fit in the housing.
I found on the little interweb it should be a 9004 bulb but those don't fit either (tried already).

So does anyone know what the OEM size bulbs are for a Grand Cherokee ZJ?

These are the headlights that he ordered:

9004 is the OEM bulb for a ZJ.

Aftermarket lenses = aftermarket problems.

Is it not seating in the hole or are you having trouble with that stupid ring that holds it to the lens?

The bulb just doesn't fit in the hole of the lens, which is pretty annoying.
Maybe i should trim out inside of the hole so the bulb Will fit?

I also read somewhere that a 9006 or 9007 bulb would fit?

But like you said 'aftermarket lenses = aftermarket problems' sadly that's true

9004 is the OEM bulb for US model ZJs - the lamps had plastic lenses as well.

Most export ZJs used the H4 bulb with glass lenses
