OK, thanks!
Now I remember why I don't post much here, anymore.
BTW: Just looked up (as an example) an upper hose for a 5.2, Dayco 71726 at both Autozone & Advance 15.99. Advance = $13.59 with discount. This was the first and only thing I looked up. Never dealt with Advance before, but "20% over autozone or any other autopart store"... not so much.
Sorry, but you have lost your credibility.

Nothing new.. Advance Auto always runs constant promotions, for example:
Code:
BIG5 - ($5 off $15 or more) 33%
A123 - ($20 off $50 or more) 40%
BIG30 - ($30 off orders over $75) 40%
BIG40 - ($40 off orders over $100) 40%
BIG50 - ($50 off orders over $200) 25%
P20 - (20% off all orders - no minimum) 20%
and my favorite:
LC123 - good for $16 off orders of $40 or more - $24 off orders of $60 or more - $32 off orders of $80 or more - $40 off orders of $100 or more

I didn't know this was such a sensitive subject. I have gone in there a few times and they have always been over priced on what other auto stores sell items for. If it makes you feel better I hate VIP too. But here are my in-store examples, went in for good winter blades for my wifes car, they were 45 for a pair, when auto zone was selling them for 36. Also car mats were 16.99 per mat, while same brand/style was 13.99 @ auto zone. And my last in-store comparison is that when I bought the pair of sway bar links for my jeep, advanced wanted 53/pair and Sanels (which is pricey) was only 44.01. So if it has ruined my credibility, that is unfortunate, but I go with what I see, and can attest too.

i wont use autozone. i had to build an MSDS binder once. i called them to get MSDS sheets on starter fluid. the girl on the phone said "whats an MSDS sheet?". even the manager didnt know what one was. they called a different store. same problem. they called a second store (3rd store involved now) and finally got an answer.
next day needed another sheet. called a different store.
me "yeah, i need an MSDS sheet for autozone starter fluid".
him "uh, we sell MSD ignition products, but i never heard of MSDS products. is that a name brand or generic?"
i drop the phone and hit my head on my desk 3 times. i pick the phone back up. " MSDS sheets, do you have them?"
him "whats an msds sheet? does it go in a distributor?"
me "give the phone to your manager"
him "sir, im just trying to help you fint the right part"
me "holy hell, i cant talk to you. give the phone to someone with some pertinent knowledge to my questions"
him "uh, ok"
joe "what can i do for you?"
me "i need an msds on autozone starter fluid"
joe "whats your fax #?"
me "317-xxx-xxxx"
joe "it'll be there in 5 mikes"
me "thanks joe"
the worst part? this is all true.

classic.... My put off from auto zone was years ago when I was trying to buy brake pads for my 1985 Toyota Corolla Tercel SR5. Went back and forth for about 10 minutes trying to explain to the counter guy that it was all 3 and he kept trying to tell me it had to be either the Corolla, the Tercel, or the SR5. I finally went outside and ripped one of the name plates off the side and carried it in with me. Most of those places hire people with no real parts or auto experience so if it doesn't say it on the computer they are lost.

I wish i had a close offraod shop to buy parts from. instead of online I don't like not touching parts that I want or need.
