Acceleration delay in 2nd gear

I have a 97 zj 5.2 pretty much stock.
Recently installed new cap/rotor/wires/plugs.

Have been noticing as of late that upon acceleration from a stop,
jeep accelerates smooth through 1st until shift into 2nd gear.
Right after shift into 2nd, my acceleration dogs out for a couple seconds before resuming to a normal curve in all other gears up through freeway speed.

So what might cause this very noticeable lapse in the acceleration curve only in 2nd gear. (Does it every time through!)

Thanks for any and all help:wave:

kahl,
Thanks for the link, that's a good write-up.
I've been eyeing that Cascade solenoid service kit for awhile, looks like almost everything in the kit is more beef than stock, so probably a great high-miles maintenance item.
Got a feeling that tightening bands is also in order too.... No garage tho... not anxious to go lay in the snow :)
