AC drain fix starting to doubt

thats what im leaning towards now. i had the famous drain leak so drilled a hole AGAIN wired it to clean it also with air but nothing came out or anything. it drains fine underneath the car. so it is not plugged. still have wet pass side only pretty bad too. ac holds the charge.
i crawled in there again and driled a hole again it takes bout 3 min till water comes out that hole so when i put my finger to it i feel air coming out. i put my finger on it and no water comes fro mthe bottom. when i take my finger off it does but also thru that hole. when i plug the hole udnerneath drains a bit but also inside. im thinking that firewall seal is leaking but is it normal it builds up pressure? since when i remove my finger i feel purged air coming out.

the hanger trick doesnt work and nothing gunky comes out. im going to try to clean the frame see if it helps any. so i hope all this makes sense im just frustrated lol:confused:

You have laves clogging above the drain tube by the evaporator.

You can do as I did:

Or remove the whole dash and disassemble the AC box, clean out and reassemble.

It sounds like your seal is bad. The seal gets dry and absorbent. Even though water comes out underneath, some of the water travels along the drain and back to the seal. The seal absorbs all of the water it can, then starts dumping it on the floor.

Here is the way I fixed mine, along with a bunch more info

thnx guys i figured something with that seal but its nasty to do ugh. anyway i had that hole and ran the ac jsut to see water dripping out after a short time i put my finger on it and nothing on the bottom now its so weird. imma check these links out and prolly tom rtv that seal trick thing and clean the framerail as good as possible. im thinking bout cutting in the wheelwell and stuff only reason i wont now is cuz its darn hot here

I tried all the tricks, and the only thing that stopped my wet carpet, was to dig all that crap from around where the drain goes through the firewall, and silicone the chit out of it. It only sticks through the firewall about 1 1/2" and water will trickle back through the hole, run down under all the padding etc. Good luck

I had a the same problem I drilled a hole into the frame rail under the hood and worked a piece of brake line into the drain and blew air thru it with an air hose. so far so good I guess it depends how clogged it is.

The time now is 02:31 PM.
