ABS light only comes on when I turn on the headlights

I am having a strange issue with the ABS light. I know.....who isnt having a problem with the ABS on their ZJ. The ABS light only comes on and stays on when I turn on the headlights. If I turn the headlights off after it comes on it will remain on until I turn off the ignition and restart it. Any clues or hints to why this happens?

Does the ABS function when the light is on? If so, I would suspect a shorted wire someplace. If not, then check the ABS function when the light is off to see if the problem is just with the light.

Thanks Durango-Bob, how should I test my abs to see if it is functioning? Should I get up to 30mph or so and jam on the brakes to see if they lock up?
