A44HD Axle compatibility if any ! 1998 ZJ

Going to the you pull it bone yard, and see what they have for rear axle shafts.

What axles are interchange with the 1998 5.9 A44 if any !

What spline are the axles in a A44

May need replacement ones, when I take it it apart for inspection.

Starting to growl a little,.

Any body have any insite on what to look at ?

Mine is a 1998 ZJ 5.9

shafts from any ZJ with a 44A will work.

i think 44A's are 30 spline, but im not 100% on that, its just the number off the top of my head.

that growl your experienceing isnt caused my by a bad asxle shaft, its caused by bad bearings...the $$a is known for short bearing life due to housing flex.

Most of the time when the bearing growls, it has taken out the shafts bearing surface.

Just need to be ready with a part source.

Only 44a shafts will work out of the junkyard. Otherwise Superior has 44a shafts available or you could use there Super35 shafts they are the same thing. They are 30 spline.

They aren't the same in the zj, different lengths.

You won't get the c-clip in
You can use 44a.shafts ina wj 35 since they're semifloat and 3/8" here or there won't matter much.

I used stock dana44a shafts in my super 35. They are exactly the same thing as the 30spline shafts superior uses.

Yukon also makes a nice forged chromoly 30 spline super 35 kit.
