'98 ZJ Laredo white gauges??

Has anyone swapped theirs out?

If so, are there any caveat that I should be aware of? or where the best place to get them?

When I test drove the '03 WJ Ltd. I thought the white gauges were awesome. Yes, it's girlie thing

I think you are referring to the electro-luminescent, correct? (Whitish face, light up from behind with black needles)

I think those are the ones! Is there a more mechanical/technical term I should call them?

They looked really, really cool.

Just electro-luminescent...they became available in '02 and the only other white-faced gauges on WJs were on the 2001 Limiteds...but they weren't as special

Well, if I can fix the moisture issue on my ZJ, then it'll be a long-term keeper and I would like to change the gauge faces to the electro-luminescent ones.

I'm just wondering if anyone else out there has done it to their '98 Laredo, and if they have - where can I get them, and any suggestions they have for me.

Your photobucket gallery is awesome. I liked that you took posted pics that show the progression of you rig ... along with some carnage that it took to get it that way(?).

Where did you get your white gauges and were they difficult to install?

For ZJ's you don't "change out the gauges.

What the is are gauge overlays with a seperate power sorce for the glow of the lights.

There are around 4 differant types for the ZJ.

They are split betwwen 93 to 95 & the 96 to 98 because of the diff. speedo limits.

They are not real hard to install. You just have to be very carfull of the needdles when over laying the gauge faces. They are very brittle & can break easy.

You can read my install on Image Station. You be one of the last before image station goes away very soon.

The gauge faces can be found on Ebay now. I got mine through a group buy on JU way back when. http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=4292057071

I've got a set of them sitting on the floor in my room. I've just never gotten around to installing them.

Thanks for the comps...as Colorado 5.9 said...they are as he explained and are easy to install...follow his write up...it is very well done...I did mine by just learning along the way...but his write up is dead on.
