98 Jeep grand Cherokee Limited and my driver-side power seat completely stop working

I have a 98 Jeep grand Cherokee Limited and my driver-side power seat completely stop working. I have checked the fuses. I used a multimeter.I have power going to the seat. I have power going to all the switches. I have power to all the motors. I have tried to check the ground and checked good. I even added a separate ground two chassis wire. It also checked out good. I added a 12 V power source to all of the motors and they all work. I have power going to all of the switches. Seat does not work at all. The heat in the heated seats also does not work at all. I don't see any relays on the seat itself. I even tried swapping the switches from the passenger side to the driver-side seat and the seat still does not work. The passenger seat works great. I am on my wits end on this one. I am open to any suggestions. Help anyone please!

Sounds like it might be an issue with the motor itself, is it possible to move the motor from the passenger seat to the driver side to test?

If you apply 12vdc to a motor and it spins, the motor is good. Reverse polarity and make sure it spins both ways.

If you have heated seats, you should have a heated seat relay mounted under the seat on the frame itself. A smallblack box. Most likely on that issue the connection in the seat cover itself is the problem. Here is one,,,,,,,,,,,http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/h...iteup-1148835/

If the motor spins, does stuff move? If not you may have a bad gear in the motor, which depending on which motor you might need this ........

Or a jy motor.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I applied a 12 v source to all of the motors and they all work. All of the gears move on all seat positions in both directions.

Can the seat heat relay cause the whole entire seat to not work?I have not found a relay yet.I am stumped as to why the seat is not working.

I'm guessing, but I don't think the heater relay is involved with the mechanized carriage. If you have 12vdc into the seat (you said you did right?), use your meter to track down where the break is. If the motors spin with direct voltage, there must be a break between the input and the motor.

Every time I've had this sort of problem, its been a switch. But you said the switches worked on the other seat. So maybe its a broken wire. One thing to note is the seat motors don't use a proper ground. That's because the polarity gets reversed by the switches.
